I just don't see why this is a gif. The text goes by too fast and it might as well just be in comic format. The only reason I see why they did this is to re-use the sprites and not have to draw, which is -points for laziness
And it wouldn't be an issue even with comic drawing, since you only have to copy and paste a character or something where you want it and make some changes on expression and movement
