I don't think that it is clickbait. Something that I've noticed is that with each of the shows is that out of all the comics there is at least one that is well over 100 pages long. Like Star vs the forces of evil and gravity falls and I assume that the author has the same intention with amphibia and this comic specifically. So give it time these comics usually take about 2 years to complete they finished Star vs the forces of evils Between Friends, and they are still working on gravity falls Bawdy Falls. So I believe that in time we will see all the characters on the cover.
No idea what Area's circumstances are but thinking the same plodding output should be expected of all artists is a stretch. Although a concerning number of independent online art, regardless of its nature, does tend to be slow. Wonder how many have day jobs, since it's hard to imagine so many of them scraping by on paltry donations.
