I used to enjoy these comics… but I never realized what an unhealthy relationship those two have. Sophie shoves Rose into uncomfortable situations and Rose, not wanting to be disagreeable for any reason, just kind of goes along with it under the guise of "opening up" or "cutting loose", or whatever. And sure, Rose obviously gets off on being led around and showed off like a show pony, but still. It's awful. Where's the respect? And moreover, where's the dignity?
In "They Wont Mind" she pretty much does it to herself and it seems pretty clear it's not something she doesn't want herself.
