I wouldn’t say it’s entirely accurate, it’s very unlikely that out of 10 friends every one will accept that you’re different. The way the comic depicted it, it just seems off, maybe not unrealistic, but boring. Could have had some future content to work with having one friend not accept them, and build both characters from there.
