You aren’t required to use a VPN like you would with torrents because no one will see your IP as the download is just between you and a server unlike torrents where it’s from multiple people as well as you seeding. I use a VPN just so my real IP doesn’t stay in megadb (steamrip’s downloads site) logs in case of a dmca takedown. Yes the downloads are painfully slow on steam rip, so use a download manager to speed the downloads up.
