Quite a hazardous way to clean a toaster-well...no, actually the plug itself is out of shot so it could not be plugged in, as to why someone would is beyond me, however there are much more efficient ways to clean such an appliance, as either suggested submerging in water can severley damage the circuits, id suggest taking it apart and inspecting the pieces to see what needs cleaning and/or replacing, depending on condition. Make sure to keep your things clean and in working order.
