If I could draw and wanted to be Not Not Not Savino, what I'd do to add more life to the premise is have Eddie hook up with Nymphie and lose interest in his mother, only for his mother to get jealous. Then the joke could be reversed as Mom would be trying to get with her son while he disregards her.

 

Also you could have a second running joke where Mom tries unsuccessfully to ruin their relationship.
