I think a lot of peoples point here isn't so much that he is nice and understanding, but more just an ignorant idiot. And how that doesn't make him a monster, basically the main issue I see here is that most people don't recognize that there is a middle ground between being a hero and a villain
Acting like it's a literacy issue is also pretty insulting, "oh your opinions about this is different than mine that must mean you don't know about these situations."
Y'all are really showing the main issues in trying to discuss anything these days

I don't get how the wolf dude is a manipulator as the comic frames him how is he supposed to know she's only doing it for the money and she actually hates him? The wolf also clearly respects her boundaries as he immediately backed off and apologized for asking her if she's a virgin.

If she's trying to hide that exact information from him, how is he supposed to know she actually hates him and his money?
To be extra clear I don't think the wolf is a cool guy, definitely not an upstanding citizen, or even a decent person. However I also don't feel like he's the monsterous manipulator this comic frames him as
People behave all sorts of ways, and being noticably nervous doesn't convey her actual opinions about everything. For him to be deliberately manipulative about it he'd have to know she has such and internalized issues with saying no and wasn't just trying to haggle. He could definitely tell she is a beginner in such a field, but that doesn't at all suggest why she is even out there, there's plenty of reason for being homeless. But he even suggested her valuing herself higher, which if he was taking advantage of her as a person he wouldn't have done. Does he do anything that I would when I'm faced with a homeless person, even on I might be attracted too? Fuck no, but you can't just assume that he has any idea the level of desperation one can feel in such a situation, or even be able to visualize the reality of having to do anything he'd consider to be vile just to survive. Loads of people are sheltered and I really don't like it when characters or even actual people get to be vilified for not being mind readers, or even just being truly cognizant of just how dark things can get. Say no if that's what you want, and if you have difficulty doing that, how in the hell does that become other person's fault?

Dawg just the fact that he is only giving her money in exchage for sex is bad enough. She doesnt need to say shes desperate because her being homeless says it for her and he is using that to get what he wants. He clearly isnt doing it for the sex since he could get that from an actual hooker or even from regular dating, hell he even says he used to have sex with a hooker but stopped when he saw her. Besides you wouldnt be saying the same thing if he was forcing her to fight dogs or other homeless people for money. The problem with manipulators like him is that they will hide behind "oh i didnt know im not a mind reader" dawg you didnt have to be a mind reader to have some basic level of thought and think "if i was a homeless girl would i want to have sex for money or would i rather just have the money". Let me guess you also dont know people dont like getting stabbed because the last guy you stabbed passed out before he said no. He isnt bad for paying for sex he is bad because you can clearly tell that he knows that she needs that money and will do anything to get it. Its no diffirent that offering to give a crackhead crack in exchange for sucking your dick.

I would say the same thing if she pretended to have a good time while fighting those dogs. Sure he can tell she is homeless, but I've been around enough to know that most people don't really have any idea what that's like what so ever. But I guess that's their fault for being lucky enough to never feel so low?
Also what about all I said about him not being a good person? None of that matters because I dare consider the possibility of ignorance, so clearly I have to be ignorant in the best case, or even a manipulator just as bad as this freaking comic character.
And what kind of twisted leap is that? Offering cash to a homeless person is the same as offering crack to a crackhead. You're too emotional to critically think about this situation, not everything is malicious nor a manipulation. And sometimes someone can be less than good without being absolutely evil, shocking
