I wouldn't say this show is making them gay to be gay. The show writers wrote them to be gay because there apart of the LGBT community. They wanted to put some representation in there for the community, and have people look up to them. They also wrote some of their own experiences into the show. It's not really forced because it isn't really major to the plot, other than just a love interest. A good example of character being gay for no reason is Dumbledore. J.K. Rowling made him gay for no reason years after the movies and books ending. It added nothing to the series other than the fact that he's gay now.
Isn't it funny how "actual representation" is always called tokenism or whatever? There's nothing about these characters that's been "thrown in" for the sake of it, they know what they're doing and they're doing it well. Can't represent the lgbt community if you never ACTUALLY include someone who's lgbt in the main or otherwise significant role.

It does feel forced in a lot of situations. However, there are shows/movies that do a great job of making it a natural thing (cause it is) than the alternative shove down your throat and yelling it's normal. Kinda like that Spongebob fiasco where the voice actor is gay but the character its self is asexual (original creator said on multiple occasions before he died) so Nick put up the image and everyone went insane.
I miss Disney cartoons where the lead protagonist was a white character and the love interest was the opposite gender with the same colored skin. I'd rather have that than this queer piece of shit of a show.
