As a person who works with mushrooms for a living, you are wrong. There are actually about a trillion genders per species of mushroom. (I'm serious btw, im not just saying it because i support LGBTQ+). Think of it as every tiny mutation in the DNA makes the whole fungus a new gender. I don't even know why it's called "genders" for a different set of genes, but oh well, i didn't name it.
