I don't really care about any of these things, however the usage of gender did not deviate from the actual definition, as "gender", rather than "sex", is a social construct, like high heels being considered feminine, we could at any point as a society decide that only men should use high heels (as it once was) and that its the pinnacle of masculinity, because high heels being feminine is entierly a social construct.
"Sex" however (using mainly sources here, as i wouldnt know anything about it from experience, though i doubt any of us would either) isnt a social construct, and is used based on their biological sex organs, such as a peen or a cooch (although this is more irrelevant in the modern age as although you cant change it on the fly like gender, you are able to change sex)
