The Wall. Discussion on Stanley Kubricks films

How do y'all feel about them? I've watched Eyes Wide Shut, A Clockwork Orange, The Shining, and Lolita. I find them all interesting, what is your thoughts on said movies? I'm watching 2001: A Space Odyssey tonight

It’s like doing salvia and cocaine at the same time. It fucks you up to the point that you doubt your very existence but also tweaks you tf out.

It's been awhile! I've talked to you on a couple of times, and it's usually a delight. Though thoes accounts are lost to the memory of time. How you've been?

I honestly don't remember, man. One might have been Charlie Kirk, and one called "White dude" (With a thumbs up guy). It's been awhile, and just forgot most of the stuff. But I was here before Fox Lover was more prevalent, and Batshit Crazy was still active. I'm glad you're good

You talking about the Charlie Kirk account that went on a Anti-Gay crusade and was killed by the community and admins in the span of like a week?

I thought it was funny and it brought the community together, since I think the forums were newer at that time

Believe it or not, this is pretty close to the original tag line for Kubrick's version. "How did they ever make a movie of...Lolita?"

it's well adapted, but definitely not one of Kubrick's best works

I'm pretty sure he has mentioned regretting doing it the way he did, but still, it was very awarded, although it was polemic, like the book

It's not as bad as you're imagining, man. The premise sounds crazy, but the acting is great, and there is more in the story and psychology then just what you're thinking.

I thought it was an amazing watch, but all subjective, I guess.

it's not a bad watch, I myself found it quite faithful from what I've seen, but Kubrick is known for his fidelity to realism and the story, so working with censorship and around the main theme (at times) must've been frustrating, so I understand how he regrets the movie

maybe his desired version would've been worse, maybe better, who knows really

I'll be buying the books Lolita and A Clockwork Orange tonight to see if he adapted well. I'll tell you how it goes, over PMs.

Watched 2001 a while back and honestly I don't understand the hype.

as it seems, my comment was deleted yet again, let me reiterate once more

I hope your house burns down with you inside of it, hopefully it'll be a painful end
