which is exactly what happened to me today
because I wanted a good pair of jumper cables to throw in my car in case I needed them
and me being me, an electrician (read; autistic as fuck), decide I want my cables insulated with neoprene, because its more resilient to wear and tear than PVC for such applications
after running some numbers I decide a cross sectional area of 50mm^2, or 1AWG, should suffice when accounting for the amp draw and voltage drop over the length I want them to be (8 meters or ~26 feet)
so I go to the hardware store in search of clamps and cable
clamps they have in stock, which is a miracle in and of itself because they are always out of the things, but the only neoprene cable they had was 6mm^2
so when I come home I go search online, and find a dutch online store selling what I want
I order my desired length and they arrive
as I am putting my cables together I happen to notice the manufacturers stamp on the cable, and I look it up because again, Im and electrician (autistic as fuck), and I like doing these things
I find my cable on the manufacturers website, and to my horror, its pvc insulation
so I go to the website where I ordered my cable, and see they get theirs through a different dutch online store
on said other website, the same cable is also marked have having neoprene insulation
so I email them, asking: "which manufacturer does this cable come from?"
and they reply with the same manufacturer as where my cable comes
but on the website where I ordered my cable they list the same cable, but with pvc insulation, for half the price
so I sent both of them an email explaining that their listings are wrong and that I want my money back
datasheets for reference, I also attached these in my email

Yeah not only do those stupid dutch people go across the Border to buy groceries cheaper they also are cheap af themselves for everything (my dutch friend never pays for anything himself and is a total cheapskate)

Same shit happened to me basically.
I ordered pass through RJ45 connectors and they gave me Standard Non pass through connectors, and I cant return them. $20 gone, :( money that could've gone to energy drinks and gasoline.

funny you mention this the day after IT asked me to run an ethernet cable through half the fucking office block just so they could get their little 8 port switch back
thank god the engineers that designed the concrete monster that is our offices specced suspended roofs throughout the entire thing, because it saved me so much trouble
but in my case the price difference between the two specs of cable comes out to around ±€120 so Im willing to send a few heavily worded emails over that

So, it went well... I think...
We'd agreed on meeting in small grocery store parking lot just outside the town center. Of course we'd managed to park at opposite ends and couldn't find eachother at first.
After we figured that out and finally met, I introduced her to my dogs and we decided we'd do the special holiday season walking route/ lightshow thing, where they have a bunch of pretty lights and some kind of holographic projections set up at various parks throughout town.
So we walked, and we talked, and I showed her how to walk a dog properly because she doesn't have a dog, but she caught on pretty quickly.
That took about an hour and a half, after which she mentioned she was hungry so went and got some streetfood, which I was not allowed to pay for.
We sat down on a bench to eat and did some people watching, after which we decided to head back.
Back at the cars I put my dogs away first before walking her to her car, where we agreed on having had fun and that it was definitely up for repeat. After which we hugged and said our goodbyes.
All in all we spent about two and a half hours together.
It's a bit early to say I'm in love, but I can definitely see myself falling for her.
Tldr, second date is happening.
