Prospectors’ Tribune #2: A Night With Loona 1-3

A Night With Loona 1 - Jizoku

1. Art - 8/10  

One of the selling points, Jizoku’s art is no joke. They have a pretty unique style of drawings tongues in particular for some reason. Almost everything is cast in soft lighting but still with a somewhat realistic feel. The style of the show is well respected, but some of the characters are off model. Not that I think off model is a bad thing, but it’s in this weird between spot where it’s clearly trying to be like the show and at first glance it does look like it but you keep noticing more and more small differences the longer you read. Still, the art is more than decent and clearly has a lot of skill behind it.  

  

2. Plot - 7/10  

I believe this was one of the first Loona x Moxxie comics along with Sinful Pleasures. While NTR isn’t usually my thing, the premise is interesting and something I hadn’t considered before reading it. The setup is ok - a little bit forced. Where things go a little sideways is when Sol gets introduced, a character that is clearly the author’s OC. You see, Loona means “Moon” and Sol means “Sun”. How clever. Despite this, they are not sisters, but peer siblings (orphans that grew up together. I looked it up). Anyway, the author doesn’t seem to be able to decide what to do with this character. They’re introduced as this shadowy figure that has bad blood with Loona and the story is pretty consistent with that at least in this first comic, but the sequel backtracks and paints her like a clueless and unlucky airhead. The dialogue in this comic is at times kind of dumb and somewhat heavy handed, and the characters occasionally make questionable or out of character decisions. But, for the most part, the writing isn’t terrible and clearly has thought behind it.  

  

3. Appeal - 9/10  

Probably the best part about this comic, and one of the reasons it was translated into German and Russian, might be the appeal. It turns out wolf women and massive dicks sell, who knew. Framing is excellent, and each pose/scene is satisfyingly long. There’s a tasteful amount of x-raying - subtle enough that I noticed a few for the first time upon rereading for this. Of course, with Loona and Moxxies dynamic, it’s pretty much hate fucking the entire time. It gets a little bit old, but it’s decently well written. Throughout the comic there’s little tidbits of small stretching/bulge, due to Moxxie’s inhuman enormous fucking schlong no doubt. If someone just figured out they were into that kind of thing, this is probably the comic I’d recommend as a “starter”. But besides that, there’s still much to take your pick from here.  

  

A Night With Loona 2 - Jizoku  

1. Art - 9/10  

Similar to the first, but improved in some aspects. The lighting is still good, and even a little more striking towards the end. The way disguised Millie is drawn with slightly distinct characteristics is a nice touch. Another OC is introduced, a mysterious spaghetti armed magic man, and, honestly, the character design is pretty good. It actually feels like a new character instead of riffing off of the main cast, and they’re interesting enough, although I’m not quite sure about the direction the author takes them in at the end. What surprised me a bit though, was that the action scenes are well drawn. The motion was clear and easy to follow, making great use of intense perspective and energetic posing, which is better than some actual action Webtoons I’ve read. Especially considering the pace that Jizoku releases at, they are certainly talented.  

  

2. Plot - 5/10  

Everyone is fucking retarded in this comic.  

Except Blitzø.  



3. Appeal - 9/10

Not much different from the original, even doubling down on the NTR but with Millie this time instead. Because of the disguise shenanigans (complete with a fully functioning dick and balls), there’s something for the straights, the lesbians, and the bis. Sorry boykissers, you’ll have to wait until A Night with Blitzø releases. For now though, we have a catastrophically down bad Loona, who even hits on the peer sibling orphan OC after she’s done having her way with Moxxie and Millie’s marriage. Truly, her ravenous hunger knows no bounds. Speaking of which, the comic also features Millie taking all of five minutes to succumb to her new male desires, breaking Moxxie’s record. Basically, Blitzø’s watching porn while his adopted daughter’s in the other room, Moxxie has encyclopedic knowledge of porn actors, and everyone just wants to get real freaky real fast in this series. 

  

A Night With Loona 3 - Jizoku  

1. Art - 8/10  

There’s not really much different about the art this time around, although it’s hard to say conclusively as only about maybe half the comic is out. However, I had to knock a point off for the fucking chin on the magic shadow demon “hunk”. The jawline to neck ratio is worse than the slander era Thragg, except there’s six pubic hairs draped across it in hopes of imitating a beard.  



2. Plot - 6/10  

Again some out of character moments, such as when Blitzø is depicted as upset only with Moxxie, despite both parties of the marriage taking Loona to pound town. Somehow, I doubt Blitzø would give a shit whether the perpetrator was a dude or chick. The pacing is also kind of inconsistent, with longer sex scenes broken up by almost random sprinklings of one or two pages of parallel plot lines. The most glaring being Octavia and spaghetti arms McGee randomly having an a seemingly unrelated and unexplained single page interaction between the two longest stretches of continuous plot so far. The dialogue unfortunately hits a new low point - Pg 35 has a single speech bubble that makes me cringe every time I read it. And, of course, Millie’s incredible entrance, “We got married! We were happy and everything was going great! And he threw it all away for… a night with Loona!”. Just Absolute MultPorn. That being said, there’s still very much a potential path back on track as the comic progresses, although my hopes are not high after the second installation.  



3. Appeal - 8/10  

This is hard to judge since not much relevant material has released yet, but, from what we have so far, it’s pretty consistent with the first and second. I removed a point because of the Grand Regent and the hard to swallow dialogue, but, again, there is definitely much room for improvement later on.
