Fiyo The United States Is Turning For The Worst

this whole rant is going to sound very doomer and dramatic but that shows how critical this has become, and i could honestly care less if people make fun of me for it:

the US is slowly becoming an authoritarian state and no one seems to give a shit about it. Trump and the republican party have evaded any form of punishment or major backlash for completely disregarding basic constitutional rights that have been upheld since they're inception. people are being taken out of their homes and from their families under the broad assumption that they are "illegal" or "dangerous" but completely untrained and unprofessional lunatics in tactical gear and face masks, parading as ICE. the government is denying access to a list of p_dophiles that stretches all the way to the bowels of our federal government. Trump and his cabinet seem to think that the system and the people a part of it are a complete fucking joke, stepping all over it without a care in the world. scandal after scandal with the people who support and are actively in the republican party is brushed off as soon as it happens. they do whatever the fuck the want, no matter how stupid and insane it is. here's a quick list of what the party had done in only its first DAY, mainly trump:

-illegally using bitcoin and other means to directly fund trumps presidential campaign

-attempting to remove citizenship by birthright

-giving out pardons to trump supporters convicted of crimes such as drug trafficking, sex trafficking, and the sexual eploitation of a minor

-pulling out of WHO (World Health Organization), breaking international law

-firing thousands of federal employees without clear reason through a phony government department run buy a private citizen, also which being the richest person on the planet

-instating unlawful bans on USAID payments, travel to and from the country, and border control policies to send in federal troops and ICE

and many, many, many more

the entirety of all of the crimes that trump and his party have committed over the course of this year could rival the size of the fucking Bible. and congress or the Supreme Court dont seem to give two shits about it. in fact, they have seemingly been bending to his will. I cannot stress this enough that our freedom and the US democracy itself are actively being challenged and attacked. if something doesn't happen in the next year or two, we could lose what this country has been for nearly 250 years. the only thing we can really do is vote while we still can, and tell this administration that they cant fucking do this. as much as this country has flaws, I will not sit idly by as it is destroyed and turned into an authoritarian nightmare.

sorry for the rant y'all, just felt the need to get these thoughts out there. I wish the people who need to see this would, but sadly thats not the case. all i can do now is hope that things get better i guess.

It’s unfortunate. There’s still a public counter movement, at least in sympathy. Mamdani and  the “blue wave”, no kings earlier in the year, etc. We’re probably still fucked. (Though I’m not sure an authoritarian of fascist state can effectively control 350 Mil people (many of whom are armed), especially with dementia don as pres.)

What did you expect? I mean, you voted for a racist who was close friends with a chįld rapìşť. And you wonder why this  god forsaken country is going down the shit-hole.

Our democracy is flawed and will not stand unless the old corrupt politicians die off, PACs get banned, and the two-party system is finally challenged. But until then, true change might happen well into our lifetimes or never happen at all, unless something big happens which I personally find unlikely.

To be honest, the biggest political change you can do right now is arming yourself, in just 2 weeks working minimum wage you could buy yourself a cheap AR platform, 3 mags and 200 rounds of ammunition, now that's what I call political action, good to have in case shit gets real real bad.

I don't care to remember much from politics anymore because i've had a doomer mindset ever since the pandemic, but wasn't there a movement from your republican party that gave the president even more power and replaced more powerful positions to align with the president?

there's always been movements to give and take more power away from the president, but now they're more extreme, and the more power side is taking over

travel to and from the country

a friend of mine has dual citizenship, Belgian and Somalian (born in Somalia but moved here as a baby), and he wants to visit his sister who lives in Colorado

only by virtue of his Belgian citizenship is he allowed a chance at a visa, had he just had Somalian citizenship it wouldve been denied immediately

now he has to pay something like €160 for, according to him, a 50% chance his visa gets approved

if I, Belgian born and raised, applied for the same visa, Id pay half that and it would be approved without issue

Alright i'd never tried to apply for a visa so allow me my stupid question. With dual citizenship can't you just only present one passport and leave out the other? When crossing a border I did that so I thought the same principle applies.
